Are you looking for an il car dealer? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Buy a car in IL dealer, but pick it up in a different dealer in CA?
I wanted to know if I can buy a car in a dealership in IL but pick it up in CA. Kinda like you can do at stores with receipts and junk. Wanted to know if this was possible so I don’t have drive my new car to CA.

A: If you factory order a car, you can have it shipped to any dealer. The delivering dealer will charge the selling dealer a fee, and that will be added to your purchase price. (this is usually done with fleet accounts and is called a Courtesy Delivery)

Several things to consider. If you are going to have the car in CA, you will need to order one with the CA Emissions package. Most likely you will be looking at a 8-10 week wait to get the car built and shipped. You also are going to be paying several hundred dollars more for the service!

If you do not want to drive to CA, why not purchase the vehicle when you get there?

Q: Can a dealer in IL sell a car when a lien is still on the vehicle?
Ok here is my situation. I went and bought a car in IL and waited for the title to be sent to me. After contacting the dealer many times there like its going to take some time because the previous owner had a lien on it. So they had to send the title to the bank with the lien. What i am wondering is it legal in IL for a dealer to sell a car when a lien is still on it by the bank? i wouldnt think they could because its not theirs yet? Any information is appreciated thanks
Heres my situation. I bought a preowned car in IL. I wanted to take it back to my home state of SD. I waited over a month for the title and still hasnt showed. Finally the dealer said it had a lien on it and would take extra time. What i am wondering is, is it legal in IL to sell a car at the dealership when there is a lien from a bank on it? Dont they have to wait until the title clears and is signed off from the bank to actually put it on there lot? any help is appreciated thanks

A: The lien would have to be settled for them to legally sell the vehicle. Otherwise the bank still has rights to the vehicle. If you paid the dealer and they new there was a lien on it then the money from the sale should go to satisfy the bank lien.

Q: Is there a way to get a car dealer license without owning any property?
Is there a way to get a car dealer license in IL without owning any property?

A: You will need to have a physical address to get a dealer license.
You will need to have a business license.
You will need to have insurance.
You do not need to own the property, you can rent one.

Q: ok i am looking to buy a used car in IL from a private dealer?
the car is a 98 honda civic coupe for 6,500 im 16
what is the insurance and sale taxes

A: Tell them that you’d buy the car if the $6500 is the out-the-door price. That means that it includes taxes and title, whatever the costs for those are in your state. They should be able to agree to it.

For that old of a car, it must have fairly low mileage for that asking price!

As for your insurance, you’ll have to call up your insurance agent and ask him what your rate would be. But this is separate from your purchase of the car from the dealer.

Q: What to do when the car dealer do not take responsibility after selling junk car?
After four days that I bought a used car at Tyson in Shorewood, IL, the engine of this car failed.
I try to negotiate with the person that sold this car and with general sales manager of the store Jim Kinney, but they were very unhelpful and disrespectful. They did not want to take any responsibility even that I drove this car only 60 miles. This is a very ripped of . Are car dealers allowed to sell junk cars?
What I should do?

A: You made the purchase, you made the decision that the car was running fine, and you are the responsible party, not the dealer. If the car engine failed after only 60miles of driving, it had serious issues, when you took possession. There is no one to blame, but yourself. Next time you car shop, take someone with you that has knowledge about cars and car buying.

Q: Is it legal to sell a car with tinted windows in IL?
I bought my car almost 5 years ago from a major dealer in IL. I just got pulled over for having tinted windows. I am rather upset about this, I have driven this car past this cop for the entire time I have owned this car and tonight I get pulled over. What do I do?

A: I would check the laws. Tell the judge that you bought the car as is and never had the windows tinted.

If the laws haven’t changed in the time from when you bought the car to now, and if the dealer is still in business, sue them, or at least make them pay the fine. Just make sure you have a good lawyer.

If all else fails, remove the tint, and pay the fine. It may suck, but the court and police have to meet quota somehow.

Q: What if 2 months after buy a used car at a dealer still don’t received the vehicle registration?
I am commuting in the state of Ca. from IL.Ibought a used car to use it in ca.the dealer said I will get registration and plates in 2 weeks (In my IL. adress) is almost 8 weeks and nothing should I wait some more or should I go to DMV and ask?

A: No, you should go back to the dealer and ask. Especially since you can’t drive the vehicle now because your 30 day temporary permit is expired. Why did you wait at all past the 30 day mark?

Q: online car dealer sold me car with major problems?
Help! I just bought a used car online through ebay. ‘05 w/ 17k miles. High end dealership, high end car. I did everything I could to ensure it was a good vehicle. Ck’d carfax, ebay’s auto check program, talked to dealer, all clean. Live in MO, picked car up in IL. Appears car may have been in accident. Heard dealer ask mechanic to ck all fluids/tires before I left. Power steering fluid shld be sealed and never need replacing is now empty, bad run flat tire, hood & quarter panel molding have part # instead VIN, low oil, more. They claim 100% satisfaction on their website. If they won’t make good on devalue of car or buy it back how can I make sure it costs them in lost sales way more than the value of my car. I want the world to know of their shady dealings! Lemon laws seem vague but I don’t believe this is technically a lemon. Would I have a leg to stand on in court? Where are some good places to publicly complain where consumers will see? What recourse have I?

A: Complain to the dealer and have the car replaced if you can. While you are at it, contact the Better Business Bureau to figure out your options.

Q: if i buy a used car from out of state dealer do i have to pay tax like i bought it from a prv. party or dealer?
I live in illinois and i want to buy a car from a dealer out off state. What tax do i have to pay. In Il if you buy from a private party you pay less tax.

A: You pay the dealer tax rate, and you pay the tax at an Illinois DMV when you bring it into IL..

The out-of-state dealer cannot collect the tax from you

Q: What Car Rental Dealers in IL Accept Debit Cards???
I plan on making a trip 2 Johnson City,TN this weekend to pick up my cousin.Me and my uncle are going to be driving down there in a rental car. However i’ve talked to a few dealers and explained that i want to pay for it off of my pre paid debit card.I will have all of the money for the rental and deposit if they require a deposit on the card at the time of pick up.But alot of dealers aren’t willing to rent off of a debit card. Now i know that there are some dealers that do accept debit cards, even some that will accept a money order. But im having trouble finding a dealer like that and one that also has good rates. Can anybody help me with this?

A: Hello,
How are you? Here is where to go to find a rental car http://www.cassandralanetravel.org

Q: can i trade in my car if il owe money to a tital loan place?
3 months ago i took out a title loan. i made several payments already toward my loan, but im not finished paying the loan yet.

i want to know will i be able to trade in my car without the tital?? wether it’s to a dealer or private owner?

A: If you can get financed, yes. (with a dealer)

Private owners aren’t into paying off other peoples loans and don’t know anything about it.

Chances are, financing another car is going to be difficult if you had to resort to “title loan” financing.

Q: car dealers in lincolnwood il?

A: Yes, all kinds. http://local.ask.com/local?terms=car+dealerships&location=Lincolnwood%2C+IL&q=car+dealerships+Lincolnwood%2C+IL&qsrc=130&yp=list&Submit=Search+Local

Q: Do I have to pay tax on the full retail price of a vehicle even if I am leasing it ?
Car dealer in IL says it’s IL state law to collect sales tax on the full price of the car even if I am leasing it for only 2 years?

Is this true?

A: Yes.

Illinois charges vehicle tax on the full price for leases. If you lived in Indiana, you would only pay tax on the money down, rebates, and monthly payment. This can change a payment by even $100 more per month (Illinois v/s Indiana). I hope this helps to clarify.

Q: is it legal for a car dealer to cash your down payment before a deal is reached?
I was looking at a used vehicle. The salesman was going to help me get financing. He insisted that I needed to write a check out for the amount of the down payment for the lenders to see. So I wrote the check. However, I declined to purchase the vehicle. They’ve already cashed my check, overdrawing my account $2000 (I bought a car somewhere else). I went to my bank and put a stop payment on it but it cost $60 in fees to get it all sorted out. Do I have any course of action to get my fees back? I can’t raise too much of a stink because I work in the service dept of this same dealership and can’t loose my job. Was it legal for them to cash a check when I did not agree to purchase the vehicle? No papers were signed at all. This is in IL.
The car salesman was working with the F&I guy, I had a car that I liked and wanted to work on financing it. Many dealerships, esp those that are franchised (This is a Ford dealership) have lenders that they work with. So the salesman was supposed to be trying to get me financing. In the end, the deal they offered was more expensive than I wanted to spend, or I would have bought the car, and they had their down payment. I’ve never dealt with a dealer before and since I worked there expected them not to try to screw me over. But yes, lesson learned.
I wrote a check for earnest monies. The salesman said it was neccesary to secure financing. The check was good when I wrote it. I turned down their offer due to the terms of the loan, which were not disclosed to me until after the check was written, which they said I had to do in order to APPLY for financing. I was going to buy the car. The check was good. I refused the terms of the loan, did not take posession of the vehicle and did not sign an agreement to buy. They should have returned the down payment. My question is, was what they did legal, or are they entitled to keep a down payment AND the car? My account was overdrawn because I bought a car from another dealer after refusing the deal on the first car and used the money as it was intended, as a down payment for a vehicle I actually purchased.

As for the “loose”, which you holier-than-thou people can’t seem to get over, it was a typographical error, not a grammatical one.

A: you might want to go tell that story to your boss, and you just learned a valuable lesson in lying thieving crooked car salesman, NEVER show a dime until you are sure, that could have been even more expensive than it was

Q: I purchased a new car & traded in my old car, transferring plates. Do I pay the full license fee of $78? IL?
I bought new car from dealer, traded old car and transferred plates. Should I have had to pay the full ‘New’ license plate fee or just continue with the remaining 8 months left on my current, transferred, license plates? I live in Illinois.

A: In most states if there is time left on your old plates the amount is deducted plus a small fee for handling. In other words it should be prorated.

Are you looking for a classic car illinois? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: is DAVE’S CLASSIC CARS in GLENARM, ILLINOIS a real place?
i am wanting to get a car from him but i wanna know if its a scam or not.

A: Provided you do the same due diligence incumbent upon you when buying ANY used vehicle, whom the seller may happen to be or their legitimacy or not is largely irrelevant.

You can certainly call the local Glenarm or County Law Enforcement to ask about any opinion they may have and you can also use one of the many online satellite imaging resources to see for yourself what, if any, facilities “Dave’s” may maintain.

You can also verify with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation its dealer license status. There are dozens of things you can do to take matters, and responsibility for the outcome, in your own hands.

In short, yes. Dave’s a “real place”.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Q: car title i already signed it how do i trade it?
got a car in illinois in a trade its a older classic car. I now lie in Ind,I was going to title it once I made it street legal. Long story short I got a good offer on the car and want to trade it but I signed the bottom of the title. I cant erase the pen? The person i bought it from not sure where that person even is. If I title it here in Ind it take weeks for the title to come back what can I do?

A: Nothing, unless your state offers the ability to show-up in-person to have a new title issued, (though many don’t as researching titles to ensure they haven’t been forged or adulterated is an inherent part of many state’s title process).

You can, however, draft a sales contract that specifies, by VIN, the vehicle, including a copy of the existing title, and setting forth your obligation to relinquish title once the new title is received. However, whether or not this is likely to be acceptable to a buyer is ONE matter, and it also may not fully waive your liability for anything the buyer may do with the vehicle before the title is officially transfered.

Best of luck. I hope this helps.

Q: Where can i buy a 1968-1969 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS to restore for not a lot of money?
I’m looking for a classic car to restore and i would like to get a Chevelle. it does not need to be in any kind of good condition, because i am going to restore it. any place is fine. online, a car lot. i live in Springfield, Illinois, but almost any place would be ok in the continental united states. thanks for the input!

A: Those are going to be pretty rare. Modifiers like them because they have a reputation for nearly optimal weight shift under acceleration, which translates to being able to put a lot of power on the ground.

Q: Two-way radios used in 1950s by Illinois State Police?
Does anybody know what types of 2-way radios were used by the Illinois State Police in their squad cars back in the late 1950s, say ‘57 to ‘59? I know they were low-band VHF units, but I’m looking for the make and (if possible) the model.

I know in the 30s/40s they used GE or RCA, but by the 60s had pretty much standardized on Motorola. But the 50s eludes me.

Reason for asking: Restoring a classic ‘57 Ford to its glory days in the I.S.P., and want to install a proper, period-appropriate radio (control head at least) as part of the restoration. Gotta make it look “right,” y’know?

If you have a source for this or other I.S.P. historical information that would help with this project, that would be great!

Thanks!

A: I was a trooper in Indiana at that time and worked near the Illinois state line. I remember seeing Motorola equipment in their cars. The control heads were under-dash mounted with a separate small speaker, also under-dash mounted. The transceiver units were hybrid (part vac tube and part solid state) mounted in the car trunk. I remember 6146 tubes in the transmitter output stage. These would be some of the first solid state commercial equipment offered by Motorola. I can’t furnish model numbers, however, a commercial repair facility would know. I drove the ‘57 Ford Interceptor, on regular patrol, in Indiana for nearly two years. It was the first really good Ford to come along, for police work. I went from the ‘57 to a ‘59 model, which I didn’t consider to be as good…

A: I’m from Scotland and found it all hilarious.
Nice one.

Q: Police spotlight mount on ‘57 Ford (thru fender not thru pillar)?
Does anybody know how the spotlight was mounted on a ‘57 Ford police car? (See photo here: http://i729.photobucket.com/albums/ww300/GFC-911/spotlight.png)

Modern ones mount through the pillar between the windshield and front door, but this mounts through fender under windshield due to wrap-around nature of windshield.

If you were to mount a modern one this way, the control arm for it would go right through the dashboard! So…

Where and how were the control arms mounted inside the vehicle? Was it some sort of curved mount, a cable system, or what? And where would the control handle have been located?

Finally, any idea what make and model the light would be?

Reason for asking: Restoring a classic ‘57 Ford to its glory days in the Illinois State Police, and want to install a proper, period-appropriate spotlight as part of the restoration. Gotta make it look “just right,” y’know?

Thanks!!

A: Good luck with this, thanks for the better picture link, here’s a similar one I found on the same year Ford.

http://mysite.verizon.net/vzesdp09/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/1957fordsafetypatrol.jpg

It looks like the control handle is right between the vent chrome and the rear view mirror. It also looks like the whole thing is slanted downward slightly to go under the windsheild. I can’t help but wonder is this was something done at the factory, because that looks like a lot of work for a government garage to do. It looks like there may be a chrome strip on the fender around the spotlight cradle. Have you contacted Ford about this? There may also be brochures on this floating around somewhere. Also try http://www.copcar.com/ , they may have some pictures that show how this is set up.
About spot lights, I have two on my antique fire truck and I see these all over the place when the Auto Fair comes to Concord NC. It looks like you might need something longer than what I have. Mine are aprox 12 inches, if that is the control handle in the Baltimore picture, that control shaft would be almost 2 feet. The controls are not rocket science so I would think a good machinist could piece two together and make it work.
For other info you may want to try these groups.

Q: Why would one believe in a supreme being.?
In my opinion religion is the true evil on this planet! Ignorant mankind has worshiped almost everything from the dawn of time.

The sun, moon, fire, stars, golden lambs, Egyptian cats, the devil, snakes, rocks, statues, gold, Greek gods, Roman gods, Pharaohs, kings, queens, trees, mountains, voodoo dolls, bugs, humans nailed to crosses, statues carved into mountains and the list goes on and on.

The fun religions are the ones that kill you if you don’t believe! All religions believe in the subjugation of women! Christian Catholics do not allow women in the Priesthood, they are relegated to the back room and used to be covered head to toe, Strict Islam also requires their women to be covered head to toe. When the Taliban gained power the girls were pulled out of schools. In the Islamic countries even today if you are a woman you can’t drive a car or walk down the street without being accompanied by a man. Ever seen a woman as head of a religion? Never going to happen! Ever see a Mormon woman with several husbands?

Religion is all about power, money and ignorance. Tom Krattenmaker,an author, once referenced a statement to Illinois Legislature’s Representative Monique Davis’s statement on Atheism, “Its dangerous for our children to even know that your philosophy exists!” That is the typical response by religious zealots to brainwash our children! Most of us were dragged to church when we were young. If you’re told about God and the church from the time you were little, your pretty much brainwashed! Its a very tough bond to break. But you learned about Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy!

I have a niece who was raised by my sister as Catholic. In a discussion about church she
made a statement to me “If I don’t send my kids to church, who’s going to teach them
morals?” Morals in a Catholic church? Duh honey, how about you doing the job?

Religion is a curse to mankind, we murdered, tortured and done just about every evil thing
in the name of God! Think about the Spanish Inquisition where women were shackled and
had long steel pins shoved into their bodies! If they screamed they were innocent, if it didn’t bother them, they were witches!

Our country was founded by people escaping religious persecution from England but were
still stupid enough to put women on chairs and dunk them in water to see if they were
witches. Certain things never change!

Just in US history alone, we’ve had loads of people who have stated they had the inside track to God. Jim Jones, there was another great religious leader who scammed his flock out of their worldly possesions, only to talk his bretheran into comitting suicide by drinking poisoned cool aid. How many times has some guy talked people into believing that the “Rapture” was coming, so they also gave up all their stuff to these idiots only to be left standing in a field in the rain some where waiting for the “Rapture” to happen and of course it never happens.

How about Jim and Tammy Fae Baker, they were wonderful developing the “PTL Club”,
Praise The Lord Club, on television raking in millions of dollars only to find out their
luxurious life style including an “Air Conditioned Dog House” was nothing but a scam sending poor crying Jim to jail.

The lists go on and on. Its all about control and subjugation of people and their money.
The Catholic church is a classic example. Look at the emense wealth that they have created! Gold everywhere and once again dominated by men. Jesus was a real person, no son of God, but still a real person. He had no gold, drank from a simple cup. Why has the church 2000 years later so swathed itself in emense wealth? Shouldn’t they have given all that money away to the poor? Of course, as usual, no women alowed! Is it no
wonder why the church is loaded down with homosexuals and sadly, child preditors?

Its apparent to me that we need something like the “Independence Day” movie. Aliens
blasting away the bulk of our cities on Earth waking up the population to realize that we
are all earthlings! Then hopefully putting the death knell on religions of the world relegating
them to the dustbins of history and ignorance!

A: Sorry I nodded off there………

Why don’t you just kill all the 4.5B people of faith in the world and then we can put you in charge and you can be our God

Q: classic car rentals in Chicago or Indianapolis area?
Does anyone know of anywhere i can rent a classic car (in between the years of 1940 and 1960)in or around the Chicago,IL/Indianapolis,IN area for my wedding in June of 2010?

A: Classic-Chassis
P.O. Box 72456
Roselle, IL 60172 Phone: 847.301.7656
Fax: 847.301.7552
Email: info@classic-chassis.com

Q: Where would i be able to find a classic car rental place of business close to Chicago?
I am looking for mostly classic muscle cars such as the Mustangs, GTO’s, etc. Any information would be appreciated. Thank You

A: Classic cars are available for rent or lease in the Metropolitan Detroit area at Classic Car Rentals (248) 258-6560, in Birmingham, Michigan. I recently rented a ‘67 GTO convertible. It was maroon with a black top, black interior. It was a real beauty! I found them on their website, www.classicautorentalsusa.com.

Q: Hello, can somebody tell me if there is a car rental in Chicago where I can rent a classic Cadillac?

A: Classic-Chassis is one, although they’re a bit pricey for me ($650 for three hours), but maybe you’ve got that kind of money: http://www.classic-chassis.com/index-weds.htm

Q: Keeping maitanence for a classic car??
What r some good tips 4 keeping a classic car rust free in chicago and what is the regular kind of maitanence??

A: In addition to the sensible advice already given, perhaps you should consider a protective coating additional to the one the manufacturer may have applied. Using something like Waxoil on the underside and in all the body cavities really helps protect from the ravages of salt induced rust. I do not know how old your car is but the older it gets, the less effective the original rustproofing is goping to be. There are two types of the spray on protection, a ‘hard’ one for the underside snd a ’soft’ one for body cavities. The hard one is more resistant to stone chips etc while the soft one creeps alowing it to get into all the little nooks and joints. It isn’t very expensive and can save a fortune in body repairs.

The regular kind of maintenance is really ensuring that the car is properly serviced with regular oil changes to keep the engine in good nick, if your car has grease nipples on things like ball joints etc. ensuring that these are kept greased, especially if you are going to use a pressure washer to clean the underside. Keeping the car warm and dry will obviously help and if the carpets get damp then leaving the doors open when in the garage helps them dry out quickly and avoids that musty smell. Keep the bodywork well waxed and after washing, use a chamois leather to gently dry off all the moisture.

Q: Where can i find tuner car shows/events in my area?
I am in Chicago. I don’t want classic car shows though. I want shows with import cars that are customized.

A: Go to yahoo.com and search on “import tuner chicago.” You’ll get a bunch of answers.

Q: Are there any car rental agenices in America that do classic 50’s cars?
Planning a road trip when i finish uni, i want to go from Florida Keys up the east coast to New York, then across inland to Chicago then all the way along Historic Route 66 to LA then from LA to San Francisco. I have found modern convertables to do it in, but i would love to do it in a big old 50’s style car.

Thanks
or 60’s 70’s. Like the car in Thelma and Louise or something like that. Must be convertable.

A: http://classiccarclubmanhattan.com/

Q: Looking for some good classic rock songs covered by some indie rock/modern rock bands?
I am an avid seeker of good rock n’ roll bands (could also be punk bands, ska, reggae, alternative, metal) that cover classic rock.

The songs need to be staple classics from artists like the Doors, Beatles, Rolling Srones, The Police, The Cars, Led Zeppelin, Chicago, Boston, Aerosmith, KISS, AC/DC, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Greatful Dead, Journey, Styx, etc… you get the idea.

When I say recent, I mean from the last 4 or so years.

Especially from indie rock bands. I want to know of any indie rock covers that fill the bill, but others rock sub-type covers are also more than welcome.

A: Mrs Robinson (original by Simon and Garfunkel)- it’s been covered by Booker T, The Indigo Girls (from Disparate Housewives), Lemonheads, Bon Jovi, and I’ve even heard a Sinatra rendition of the song.

Aerosmith:
“Sweet Emotion” has been covered wonderfully by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (B side to “Someday I Suppose”).
“Dream On” has been covered by Tori Amos (bootleg), and by Enigma
“Walk This Way” has been covered by the String Cheese Incident, Sum 41, and even Macy Gray.

Dylan’s “Death is not the End” has been artfully covered by Nick Cave, Shane McGowan, Kylie Minough, and PJ Harvey (kind of a Goth “We Are the World”)
Of course, Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” done by Jimi is amazing.

There’s an edgy cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit” done by Slapshot – the extra verse is especially eerie.

Now on Zeppelin – there are so, so many covers.
On the good side – look at Infectious Grooves or Cyro Baptista’s cover of “Immigrant Song” – both are wonderful.
On the bad side – watch out for Dolly Parton’s painful version of “Stairway to Heaven”.

Rolling Stones:
The GnR cover of the Stones “Sympathy for the Devil” is good, and the Coors cover of “Ruby Tuesday” is a wonderful surprise, and Def Leppard covered “You Cant Always Get What you Want” (good luck – it’s a B side off the UKs “Waiting for that Day” single), and about 100 covers of “Paint it Black” (Blondie, Duran Duran, Inkubus Sukkubus, The Residents andTelevision are good covers, and the U2 cover is lame)

Journey:
Mariah Carey did a poor cover of Cain’s “Open Arms” (John Waite told me he also rejected the song when Cain showed it to him while he was in the Babys, but Steve Perry loved it)
The Hammerheads adaption of “Any Way You Want It” is a pleasant surprise.

Cartman has covered Journey, Styx, and many others.

Q: Crazy fun adventures and new experiences?
Ok well below i have listed my to do list that i have so far….I would like to know where i can do this and how much would it cost… Read the list and if you see one that you know where i can go and do it and the cost of it please let me know.
A: I will vote for Rock Climbing in The crags near Los Angeles and San Francisco. It will be very fun to go there again! Rock climbing can vary in cost. For bouldering you just need a pair of shoes and a pad. Sport climbing will need more technical equipment, traditional climbing will take a lot of more equipment. I can assume you will need 200 bucks to thousands of dollars, depends on how you want to pursue climbing

Q: Classic Courtroom Quotes?
These are some things that have been mentioned in court.

None footy related, you probably realise by now that I usually dish out drivel.

A: yes number 15 is a classic

I was on a jury for a major drug case (20000 marijuana plants) and when the judge was summing up before we had to deliberate on whether the man was guilty or innocent, the judge started with the ONLY time you can tell that the crown witness is telling the truth is when his mouth is shut

Not guilty

Q: i have an idea for great street racing game?
ok its an open world and mission gameplay at sametime its about an orginized illegal street racing gang lead by a former russain mod leader deported to chicago (where game takes place) from russia secretly who is an expert street racer being hunted down by chicago fbi and chicago police department, opening cut scene shows a honorably dicharged us army green beret seargent first class(main character) get of an airplane from fort brag getting into a taxi, being taking to his freinds custom classic auto shop where main character asks if he got his 1974 datson 240zx built (before he gets his car you can totaly customize its exterior and interior also upgrade all performance) now he drives home, then his freind tells you about alot of illegal street racing going on and ask if him and the main character wants to join some races, after you win some races it goes to a cutscene where it shows main character in home then a knock at the door he gets up and answers it, its the fbi crime and narcotics division special agents,in fbi office being breifed that you and your freind need to go undercover as racers and work your way up through the ranks to arrest the leader. missions are you do tasks and missions for the fbi and police also you take part in races and side missions along with other types of races and missions, only police detectives know your undercover all patrol police do not, when not racing or doing misions you can drive through out the large open map of chicago, for buying a car there will be differnt car delerships for different car types like (exotics, classic and modern muscle cars, and tuners) then to customize it take it to your freinds auto shop to customize it, types of cars 68 mustang fastback,70 chevelle, 72 camaro,69 charger, 70 challanger 2009 challanger, 2009 charger,2009 mustang gt, 66 gto, 2006 gto, 2008 dodge magnum srt8, also nissan 370z, 280zx, plenty of other tuners and exotics, the game would have exellent story line, also have a inside the cockpit veiw so its like yoour really driving, also option the turn car into an automatic, or 4-5-6manual trans, game should also be very very relastic by cutscenes, driving, character voices, graphics
it should be devolped by rockstar and creators of need for speed tell me what you think
open world gameplay should be like test drive unlimited but alot better
by realistic i mean by midnight club la gameplay realistic then need for speed undercover cutscene realistic
plot is similar to the game driv3r
it would be an existing game

A: Rockstar would not make this game because it would hurt their Midnight Club sales if the game would be really good.

EA might make a game like this, but it would carry the Need for Speed name.

It won’t be realistic. Realism and street racing doesn’t mix, which is why there hasn’t ever been a realistic street racing game made yet. Plus, neither Rockstar or EA specialize in realism. Maybe you could get the cockpit of each car, but the other stuff is sounding like Gran Turismo type features and PD would never make a game like this.

Its a nice idea, but is likely to carry a known name instead of being a different game entirely. Changing trannies on the car wouldn’t be necessary. The user would accept a choice of manual or automatic in the game settings. And most developers wouldn’t bother taking the time to getting the data for the cockpit of all those cars. You’re asking for development time that’s required for PS3 exclusives and I dunno if developers will want to make a street racing game for the PS3 that’s only an exclusive.

EDIT: Okay, I get your idea of realism now. Try pitching it to some developers. I mean, I seriously like the idea and that kind of story. I just dunno if the big name developers and publishers will make it a new game entirely, versus, making that the plot for the next Midnight Club or Need for Speed.

Are you looking for a chicago honda dealer? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Where in Chicago for Honda Civic Air Conditioner Repair?
The A/C in my 2002 Honda Civic stopped blowing cold air last year. I am relatively new to Chicago. The Honda dealers I contacted are asking for $200 just to look at it and around $1000 to repair! Anyone know of a good place around Chicago where I can have my A/C repaired?

A: have you tried feeding it a can of R134a? It’ll probably leak out again but if the leak is slow enough, it’s well worth the $6. They have cans with UV dyes so that you can find the leak so you’ll know what part to replace. Another trick is a propane torch with a siphon hose, you run the hose up and down the AC lines till the color of the flame changes indicating a leak. AC’s are pretty simple devices but you do need them professionally evacuated before working on them. As to recharging them, you can buy cans of R134a with lubricant for the first charge. Most mechanics have the equipment to evacuate the system though some street mechanics will just illegally bleed it to the atmosphere.

Q: Where to find a nice mini van in Northwest Indiana, near Chicago with bad credit?
My dream van is the Honda Odssey mini van, or the Chrysler Town and Country are there any dealers in my area, that will finance with bad credit, have a down payment. We need a minivan as soon as possible. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The credit situation is due to high medical bills, from a auto accident hit by a drunk driver.

A: I am a car salesman in Northern Indiana, we have different programs, for all situations. You can call 574-247-9900 and ask for Dan. Or e-mail me at gdmosley@yahoo.com.

Q: What is the cheapst but safe way to transfer a motorcycle (sportbike ninja ex250)?
I am going to college UIUC, about 200miles away from home.
Basically, I am interested in buying a motorcycle (maybe ninja 250).
However, there are not that many sport bikes on sale around the campus. So I have decided to buy one from Chicago area (where I live). But what is the best way to transfer the bike back to campus? I was thinking about renting a uhaul about 150 wit gas.
Is it bad for the bike?
Is there any other way to do it?
My family have a Honda Pilot, would it work too?
P.S.
Can anyone recommend some good dealers around Chicago west suburbs area?

A: Put the bike in the back of a pickup truck. Be sure that the front tire contacts the front of the bed. stand the bike upright KEEP IT IN NEUTRAL and secure a paded strap to each side of the handle bars and tighten them equally forward and to the sides.

Q: 95 civic bad gas mileage?
I bought a 95 civic ex coupe completely stock from a honda dealer about 3 weeks ago. They said they changed all fluids and everything was in great shape. It only has 117k. after driving a few weeks I’ve been getting only 170 miles per tank and I dont drive fast or crazy; just normal chicago city driving. I know its cold out and that affects mileage, but should i be getting less than 20 mpg on this car?

A: Well you could start by checking your fuel pressure, spark plug condition and gap, condition of distributor cap and rotor, etc

Are you looking for a chicago dodge dealer? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Why is my 2004 Dodge Stratus SXT coupe is overheating?
A couple months ago i opened up my hood and found some green/white foam near the radiator, i was told by many peo-ple to just watch my expansion tank to see if the level is going down and for any leakage because sometimes leaks stop themselves- nothing happened all was well for a couple months. Today i went and got my car washed and had my car in park and my air conditioning on- the gauge for temp went up (slowly) and soon my light came on- as soon as i got out of the car wash my heat gauge went down immediately and I checked the expansion tank and the liquid level is the same, as well as there are no leaks, i put the Air on later today while driving- nothing happened. I also went and got my oil changed today at my dealer, i was told my coolant levels are fine and they did not mention the radiator- What is going on with my car? i am driving to chicago (4 hrs away) in 3 wks and I want to make sure I can make it there and back, safely.

A: If there’s a separate radiator cap right on top of the radiator, remove it when the engine’s cold and see if the coolant is filled right to the top of the radiator fill opening in the radiator. It should be. If not, you need to fill it to overflowing and tell the shop technician your radiator level was low even though the coolant overflow reservoir was full.

Q: Is it important to check the trans oil? and why?
I own a 2007 dodge magnum and I took it for the first time to a speedway today because my dealer moved to lansing il and I live in chicago besides that I don’t have warranty anymore so I figured just start already and take it to like speedway places..I was told that car makers started making cars that need to go to dealers to check the trans oil so I didn’t get that included with my oil change is that bad? I think I should have just token the car to the dealers in the first place now beause they would have checked that aswell and for the same price..please someone give me a clue on how important it is to check the the trans oil I have no clue. Thanks!

A: you need to have it checked and also have it changed at least every 36 thousand miles on that one, that’s what determines how long the transmission will last is the condition of the fluid and if it gets dirty enough it can cause problems with it,even though the warranty is out on it id still have a dealer service it,them or a qualified transmission shop can change the fluid and filter in it,it may be the difference in how long it last before it goes out, that’s how important it is,good luck.

Q: Help me choose between a srt-4 and wrx?
Im looking at two or three different ones. Now I’m not just worried about straight lines. I want to take turns, and also enjoy my car. I want the interior to be somewhat nice as well. I also live in Chicago so it snows. Now I’m trying to convince myself towards the srt-4 although ive never owned a domestic before. Help?

Are you looking for a chicago ford dealer? Check out the Trusted Automotive Market Place LemonFree.com

Q: Need a new tire for my 2006 Ford Focus in Chicago?
What are the best places to buy tires for reasonable prices for my 2006 Ford Focus. I am in the Chicago area and if there are any good chainstores or should I go to my Ford Dealer? I just need the one. Thanks in advance.

A: I would check with one of the local midas’ around there see what kind of options they have.

Q: Restart 2000 Ford Taurus Computer; want to avoid going to a dealer so I can troubleshoot.?
The car has 130000 on it right now, about 3000 miles ago with the last oil change I had trans flushed, radiator flushed, and a general Jiffy-Lube tune up to clean injectors and such.

Today I was leaving for the dentist and when I started the car it was throttle reving so I turned it off and tried again. After allowing it to go the Emmision Light came on and it returned to idle once I moved it.

I live in Chicago and we just had a bad snow and I did park the car pretty much in a pile of snow and once I got out is when everything was fine. So I would like to know how to restart the memory of the computer so I can turn off the light and reset it to normal to see if the problem happens again.

I would really like to avoid going to the dealer to pay $50 just for a restart when I just bought a set of 4 brand new tires for the thing.

Questions
-How to restart memory
-Anyone have similar problem
-Side Question: Does anyone know if the radio has a diagnosis setting?

Thanks
Also, it is not that I don’t know what I am doing it is just that I don’t know how to do it on this car. I had a 1996 Ford Contour that I dealt with all these sort of issues and then a 1993 Ford Aerostar which also I could do all electrical type of work and sensors. But this 2000 Taurus is a new car for me (driving less than 3 months now) so I just was wondering if anyone knew how to do it.

Please no answer of “take it to the shop now or you’ll break it” because I, one cannot afford that and two do not need the dealer computer to fix tell me something I can figure out myself.

Plus I have a personal mechanic to do any real work that may need to be done, but I just want to know if anyone knows a restart.

A: Usually if you disconnect the ground from the battery for a couple of minutes and reconnect this should clear codes and light will go off. Most likely the light will re-appear though if problem still exists. If the radio has an anti-theft code it should say so right on the front of it.

Q: Where can I get a shift cable for a 93 Ford Tempo?
Hi the Mechanic who is fixing my car said I need a shift cable for my 1993 Ford Tempo but he is having trouble finding it. He contacted the dealer and they said they don’t make the part anymore. Anybody know where I can find or order this part from? Preferably as close to the Chicago area as possible. Thanks!
I checked the local autozone and they didn’t have them in their system. I’m sure the mechanic has checked reliable sources around town. I think he wants to make sure there’s not any brand new ones lying around somewhere before he gets one from the junkyard. It’s a great car. I got very very lucky. I’ve put maintenance work into it so I want to keep it another couple years. I’ve put some new hub bearings and shocks on it, new harmonic balance, new altenator and battery. Very impressive engine, starts up in the freezing cold when newer cars won’t. Tough Car.

A: call junk yards, i’m sure there are MANY Tempos

BTW- awesome car, I owned one and it never let me down once!

Q: is their something wrong with those yellow ford cargo vans that ive seen people and dealers try to sell soMANY?
my dad wants to buy a one of those for yellow ford 250 v6 but he thinks something is wrong with them because he has seen many people dealers and people selling these vans is their something wrong with them? here is the one he whants to buy

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ctd/1092130025.html

PS.IF THEIR ANY GOOD WEBSITES FOR BUYING USED VANS LIKE DODGE,ASTRO,FORN OR PICKUPS PLZ TELL ME THE WEBSITE

A: In answer to your question, the majority of people out there in the market for such a vehicle probably feel the V6 engine comes up far short on power for their hauling needs. Typically, the majority of buyers in the market for 3/4 ton or 1 ton vans will opt for the 5.4L V8 or the diesel to meet their needs. The V6 engine is at best, suited for 1/2 tons vans subjected to very light use hauling, with greater priority on fuel economy. Hope this helps.

Me : Yes. I want to have 1 of each from film. Also the size should be 4 by 6. Also, how much is it per 1 picture?
Clerk : It’s gonna be C15(15sent) per each. – (I’m not sure about this sentence. I mean this expression is right or wrong)

(What is the best way to say when I want to get picture from film camera?)

 Clerk : Sorry ?
Me : I want to have mileage card to add my mileage.
Clerk : What’s your number of membership?
Let me give more time to look around other stores and cars.
I’ll think more. When I decide to buy this car, I will call you. Thanks for your help.

Q: Do you see any problem here Students face deportation to countries they don’t remember?
Their secret was out: Despite their upbringing in middle America, their academic success and their network of native-born friends, they had no permission to be in the United States. Their parents had brought them here illegally as children.

The Robles brothers, now out of jail but fighting removal in Immigration Court, are among thousands of young illegal immigrants in similar situations, living at risk of being expelled to countries they barely remember.

Two weeks ago, a Harvard University student who came from Mexico at age 4, Eric Balderas, joined their ranks after he was arrested by immigration agents at the San Antonio Airport.

They are known in some circles as “Dream Act” kids, named after proposed legislation that would grant them legal status.

Their cases underscore a contradiction in the Obama administration’s approach to immigration enforcement. Even though the president supports the Dream Act — which would provide a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants brought here as children who enroll either in college or the military — his enforcement bureaucracy continues to pursue deportation cases against the increasing number of students who would be protected by it. It’s part of a push that is on track to remove a record 400,000 illegal immigrants this year.

“It highlights the inconsistencies in immigration policies,” said William Perez, a Claremont Graduate University professor and author of “We Are Americans,” a book about undocumented immigrant students.

Immigration authorities say they rarely deport students, particularly once their teachers, coaches, friends and elected representatives speak out on their behalf.

Balderas, for example, was placed in “deferred status,” meaning the government won’t remove him unless he gets in trouble. But even so, the young people remain in legal limbo, often unable to land a professional job after earning a degree. And they live with a legal sword of Damocles over their heads, subject to removal at any moment.

“These cases illustrate the need for comprehensive immigration reform,” said Virginia Kice, spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “ICE uses its discretion on a case-by-case basis, as appropriate.”

Carlos and Rafael Robles were on the way to visit a friend at Harvard — not Balderas — when they were arrested. They spent a weekend in jail before friends posted $5,000 bond for each of them. They had to travel to Buffalo again recently for a court hearing after an immigration judge turned down their request to move the case to Chicago. Their next court date is next year.

Their father works for a car dealer, and their mother is an assistant at a mortgage company. They came to the U.S. by airplane five years ago on a tourist visa and never went back.

“We want to go to school and to work here,” Carlos Robles said.

Several residents of their community, a Republican-leaning Chicago suburb where most people have little patience for illegal immigration, have written letters on their behalf, said Robert Carroll, a teacher at Palatine High School.

“Gee whiz, these are just two quality kids,” he said. “They are everything you would want your kids to be. These kids are going to be leaders in their communities — taxpayers, not tax recipients.”

In recent months, immigration rights activists have renewed their push to convince Congress to pass the Dream Act. Activists have staged hunger strikes and occupied congressional offices. Earlier this month, about 30 students marched outside the Los Angeles office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). Feinstein is a co-sponsor of the Dream Act, but activists criticize Democrats for not moving the bill this year.

“Immigration reform may be dead this year, but we feel that smaller pieces like … the Dream Act can move forward,” said Marisol Ramos, founding board member of the national United We Dream network. “Democrats should really step up.”

The Dream Act, sponsored by Sen. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) and others, came up eight votes short in the Senate in 2007, when an effort to overhaul immigration law fell apart. The following year, then-candidate Barack Obama urged its passage during a presidential debate, saying that youths who “have essentially grown up as Americans” deserve legal status. But Obama has done little to push the bill as president.

A: Deport them, I have no problem with deportation of these students. I see them in the school systems and they are not the great students that supporters of the dream act make you want to believe. Look at Texas, the drop out rate for illegal aliens is over 50%. So you want these gang bangers and young drug dealers to receive amnesty. Not me. If the dream act would ever pass, how could you tell one who stays in school that they are allowed to stay but their five siblings who quit school would have to be deported. No dream act ever. It is their parents fault for doing this, are school systems already suffer by their presence.

Q: Illegals admit they are illegal to police why do they think the dream act should dismiss all charges aganist?
Their secret was out: Despite their upbringing in middle America, their academic success and their network of native-born friends, they had no permission to be in the United States. Why are illegals trying to erode our laws ? Should I not get a speeding ticket cause I am good student ? All Mexicans have relatives in Mexico to help them adjust. People all over the world move to countries they know nothing about and adjust and make it ok.Why are these Mexicans so special ?
Illegals admit they are illegal to police why do they think the dream act should dismiss all charges aganist them ?

A: I am glad to hear they want to continue their education but they can’t do it at the expense of tax payers. Sorry, they should not be getting any financial assistance and if they can pay then they should pay out of state tuition. It is not our job to educate and provide for illegals.
They can go ahead and go to college in their home countries. So ……

Q: Obama is slamming Palin for supposedly ties to lobbyists, but do you guys know about his ties? ?
Obama’s Early Campaigns Financed by Lobbyists

Monday, September 8, 2008 3:29 PM

By: Kenneth R. Timmerman

While Sen. Barack Obama takes great pride in having recruited more than 1.2 million donors to his presidential campaign — many of whom contributed less than $100 — he hasn’t always been a man in touch with the grass roots.

Indeed, his early campaigns for the Illinois state Senate were heavily financed by well-connected business leaders, lobbyists, trial lawyers, and labor unions, a Newsmax review of campaign finance records shows.

Obama launched his first campaign for the Illinois Senate in July 1995 with a $5,000 loan from Al Johnson, a prominent Cadillac dealer in Chicago who was a close crony of Jesse L. Jackson Sr.

Johnson boasted of having provided luxury cars to Jackson free of charge, as I reported in my 2002 book, “Shakedown: Exposing the Real Jesse Jackson.”

Johnson added another $2,000 to the pot as a contribution to the campaign in September 1995, making him Obama’s single largest supporter.

Not all of the Friends of Obama campaign reports are available online through the state of Illinois Web site. While there is no specific record available showing that he paid off the $5,000 loan to Al Johnson, his June 30, 1997 financial statement shows that his campaign’s debts had been reduced from $12,494.38 to $3,637.01.

The connection to Johnson came through Michelle Obama, who reportedly had been close to Jesse Jackson and his family since childhood.

Obama’s only other contributor in the early days of his campaign was Tony Rezko, the Chicago slumlord and developer convicted in July on 12 counts of wire and mail fraud.

Rezko gave Obama $2,000 in July 1995 as corporate donations from Lakeside Refreshments and Rezko Foods, both of which he controlled.

Obama has said he never intervened on behalf of Rezko in state or federal business, and did not benefit from a sweatheart land deal with the convicted felon, although Rezko sold him a lot next to Obama’s house in Chicago at what appeared to be below-market prices.

But in the 1990s, Obama’s Chicago lawfirm represented Rezko and his company, Rezmar Corp, as Rezko won government grants to build low-income housing for the poor. Both Rezko and his wife, Rita, worked on Obama’s first state Senate campaign in 1995, in addition to contributing money directly and through corporate entities.

Once Obama was elected as a first-time state senator in 1996, he turned increasingly to big labor and big donors. Money from Political Action Committees (PACs) — the vehicles used by lobbyists and labor unions — often outweighed contributions from individuals by as much as 10-to-1.

For the first half of 1997, for example, he collected $12,200 from PACs and trial lawyers, and just $4,175 from individuals. But even here, $2,000 of the money accounted for as individual contributions came from Rezko Concessions and Rezmar Corp, both of which were controlled by Tony Rezko.

For the first half of 1998, this trend continued, with just $1,505 collected from individuals and $13,500 from PACs. Tony Rezko provided food valued at $457.70 that was listed as an “in-kind” contribution.

As the 1998 elections approached, Obama picked up close to $30,000 from individuals, and an additional $23,850 from lobbyists.

His single largest contribution — $5,000 — was from the Illinois Political Action Committee for Education (IPACE), the political arm of the state teachers’ union.

His second largest — $3,000 — came from the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Next, with $1,000 each, came PACs representing the Teamsters, Social Workers, lawyers, dentists, the Chicago Teacher’s Union. A wide variety of local and federal labor unions gave him smaller amounts.

By January 1999, lobbyists and lawyers had become his single largest source of funding.

For the first half of 2000, Obama no longer bothered to solicit individual campaign contributors, while raising $14,600 from the lobbyists.

Even though 2000 was an election year, he only raised $2,400 from individuals that fall, while raking in $28,560 from lobbyists and lawyers. And of the $2,400 from individuals, more than half came from Evanston, Ill., lawyer, Larry Suffredin Jr.

“Obama’s source of support comes from the very far left of the Democrat party — unions, trial lawyers, social workers — not individuals,” said Cleta Mitchell, a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm Foley and Lardner, which specializes in campaign finance law.

“So, now they try to say they have all this money from little people. He didn’t get there with small contributions from little people. He got there with being financed for a number of years by ultra left wing interests.”

It was those larger interests that provided the seed money and expertise that allowed the Obama campaign to build the broad base of smaller donors that his campaign now boasts of having recruited, Mitchell told Newsmax.
My question is- Why is Obama slamming Palin when he’s done worse?

Please don’t answer my question with a question.
Is it too difficult to answer my question? Thus far, people are evading the question and saying, “but, but… Well, what about…” Come on, let’s answer the question.
Morbus- NewsMax has provided their sources, so your arguement is NULL AND VOID.

A: And, contrary to what thebigshowernie believes, Obama DOES have lobbyists running his campaign. In fact Obama spokesperson, Jen Psaki, said no member of Obama’s staff has lobbied since taking a full-time role with his campaign. Of course that leaves it open for part-time campaign employees to still lobby.

Some of Obama’s lobbyist employees include;
So any advice and anything that would be debatable would be nice to hear. I want to stand out in the group and i like controversy. Please help!! thanks XOXOXO

…. THE KIDNEY MACHINE PROBLEM

The people in your group represent a group of doctors. Each of the patients listed below is in need of the services of a kidney machine to do the work of their own failing organs. There are only 5 machines available at the present because of the prohibitive cost of manufacturing them. No more machines will be available in time to save all of these patients. It is the job of your group to decide, based on information given, which participants will receive treatment and which will not. Those who do not receive treatment will die.

1. Mrs. Maria Vasquez. 27 years old. Married with 6 children who range in age from 2 to 10 years old. Husband is a printer who own a print shop in partnership with his brother-in-law.

THANKS!!!
ok so for those who think that i am unable to do my own homework… i am researching this thouroughly on my own.

i have already done extensive research on kidney dialysis machines, life expectancy, the pros and cons of the treatment, children coping with treatment.. i could go on and on.. which i would like to add is not a requirement.

most of my group members wont do any research at all, and simply sit in front of the class & blurt out whatever comes to mind.
I am simply asking anyone on here for advice, because everyone thinks differently and i am open to different oppinions. i just want to be able to be prepared in case someone comes up with something that i have not thought of before
.. and why does my name have anything to do with anything???
some people are wierd, if u dont like my fun, though provoking question then please dont respond.

A: 1,3,4,6,7. Put all names in hat these five came up first….>_<

Q: Vehicle purchased with drug money?
I saw “Police vehicle purchased with drug forfeture (sp) funds” I know that alot of times when a dealer gets busted or someone with drugs on them gets busted 8/10 times they have a large amount of money on them. But what happens to the drugs? Are they disposed of? Do they get any money for them from the govt? What I mean is that it’s a small town, but very close to chicago, and we have alot of gang and drug activity on the otherside of town. Every other year they get new cars, they just bought a bunch of Mustangs they use as squads. I don’t think they can make enough busting dealers, or am I wrong?

A: If you seize money that is linked to drugs or other criminal activity, you can submit it to the federal government for asset forfeiture. They keep a portion for administrative costs, and return the rest to the department. The money is then used to fund drug enforcement and education programs.Purchasing a car to be assigned to the drug investigation department would be acceptable.

It is common for drug dealers to have large amounts of cash on them. One of the reasons for this is banks are required to report unusual deposits of cash, so drug dealers do not have accounts.

That is for cash only. The drugs themselves are kept in evidence until no longer needed, and then destroyed. This is normally done by incineration, with witnesses. Police also use intelligence information to hit the dealer when he has the most drugs and money.

Q: Im 22 and feel like I wasted my life?
This might be a little bit long, but I need some advice. To start off I’m 22 years old and my friends already have careers or about to get them in the next year or so. I feel like I don’t know what to do with my life, an I feel really lost.

A summery of my life. I was adopted at 1 day old. At age 7 I was diagnoised with Bipolor Disorder type 2 ( from age 7-22 i have been on about 20 different meds for bipolor and none have helped) I grew up with my parents being super over protected of me, and not letting me experiance life when I should have. On top of that my adopted father was verbally and pysically absuive. At age 13 my parents seperated, and I was stuck with court ordered visitation schedule. By age 13 the divorce was finalezed wihin the first 2 months of my freshman year of high school. Since the divorce both parents claim to have no money, which has put all of us in major problems ( I believe someone is lying).

I was alone and started making bad choices throught senior year such as, losing my virginity at age 14, started drinking, smoking weed, smoking ciggirettes at age 14/15. I left town at ag 18 to live with a guy i met at a carnaval in gary county, IN (east chicago). Came back 6 months later not really doing anything besides partying. I wasnt allowed to live with either parent so I was basically on my own to survive. From age 18 my drinking and smoking(both forms) got worse. By age 19 I started using powder cocaine and became addicted really quickly, to the point of using 6 days a week. At age 20 I met a guy who was also a drug addict and moved in with him. WE got into a relationship, that involved heavy drinking and powder cocaine use, and he would steal from stores to sell the items to dealers to feed our drug and alcohol needs. This was also a very abusive relationship (psyical, verbal, mental, and emotional) By the age of 21 or so I cleaned up and stopped using powder cocaine (cold turkey) and smoking weed, because of about 3-4 almost drug overdoses). I was enrolled in school from age 18-22 but kept dropping out within the first 2-6 weeks, because of lack of motivation, boredom, and feeling it wasnt doing anythng for me and I was learning stuff that was total irrelevant. I met my birth family and discovered their is drug and alcoholisim in the family and I have it. ( I will NOT go to AA or NA, so please do not suggest it!!!) I wasnt allowed to get my permit licence till i was 19 ( took drivers ed in high school, was allowed to get it, still don’t know why) The reason i got it was from being a desinated driver and another drunk driver hit us and the judge would drop everything(florida law doesnt care). I didnt get my offical licence till I was 21. Both parents have still to this day refuse to buy me a car ( but 1 rent lives in a 2 story house, drives a 2001 honda accord, and lives off alimony because she hasnt worked since 1986, and the other rent has been paying rent to live in the same apartment for 10 yrs, drives a 2006 honda pilot, and takes about 6-10 work related “breaks”/vacations a year)

Because of that happening I applied and received an college internship to work at Disney. I had a great time, until I came back home this January. My adopted mom allowed me to move back in and I was enrolled in school as a full-time student, (We still dont see eye to eye on anything and thats why i left when I was 18) I couldn’t find a job so I became depressed and dropped out of school again.

As you can see I have had a pretty messed up life, worse then most people. Nothing really motivated me besides going out and having a good time(drinking, karaoke, night clubs, concerts, ect). I know my talents, strong points, and interests but dont know what to do as a career. Anouther major factor is I have the type of personality where I cant be bossed around. I have known since a small age that i will never be able to work for the man, I have to be the boss ( i have had about 20 jobs since age 16 from retail-resturant-sales-marketing-customer service) nothing motivates me to stay( usually hours, money, or co-workers/managers).

I dont want to be in my thirtys and being in the same position I am in right now. I need advice from anybody that has been throught this, or knows some one that has and what to. I AM NOT repeat NOT religious nor will i ever be so please DO NOT mention anything about god. I have been up for about 4 hours because I couldn’t sleep thinking about this wit already 3 panic attacks. I feel really lost in life right now, and need help!!!

A: anyway i could help?

the name address phone number of the office director to call to report the incident and get claim forms for immediate recovery of my personal losses and expenses. WHO WHERE AND HOW FAST? Be specific and note i cannot post online cause the perps Hack everything OFF LINE and i never get thru!

A: You ARE crazy.

You don’t know what hackers are, or how they operate. You have a fantasy based idea of what hackers are (and what they can do) that you have formed from watching too many bad TV shows and films.

Q: Who is the largest prius dealer in the greater Chicago area?
I’m looking to buy a Toyota Prius and I want to go somewhere where they have the largest stock of priuses to choose colors, options, etc.

A: You may want to ask on the very quiet Chicagoland Prius owner’s group: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/chicagoprius

Stock of Prius? you’re joking, right? most dealers have a waiting list, in the 3-6 month range right now for Prius. Those that have Prius sitting on the lot are typically charging an “availability surcharge” of thousands over MSRP. You’ll probably be lucky to find a dealer with an unsold demo or TRAC (Toyota Rent A Car) vehicle that you can do a test drive in.

You can find out the Prius’ MSRP and color/option packages available in your region by going to (with a flash-enabled browser) http://www.toyota.com/prius-hybrid/ and use the “Build your Prius” link found under any of the Explore/Research/Shop tabs.

Q: How to import and register a JDM vehicle into the US?
I have been playing with this idea for quiet a long time now and have finally become more serious about this. I am planning to import and register a JDM vehicle into the US, specifically register it in Chicago, IL.

My vehicle of choice is either the Toyota Soarer 4.0GT-L or Toyota Aristo 4.0Zi-Four. I have heard and read articles that the imported vehicle would have to go through emission testing and that it is very hard, or nearly impossible, to register cars from Japan. I know however that the right-hand-drive part is not the problem. But I also know that there must be an easier way around all this to register a car like this. I have seen many JDM vehicles imported from Japan that sell on eBay and Craigslist nationwide. Do you know whats the best and cheapest way?

The Soarer 4.0GT-L and the Aristo 4.0Zi-Four both are the US equivalents of the Lexus SC400 and GS400. The engines are the same, so engine modifications do not have to be done.

I am asking those who have experience in this matter. I am very serious about this, so any help or tip is greatly appreciated. If you can pin-point me to a dealer or shop that specializes in JDM imports, let me know! I know it’s possible and I know it can be done in a less pricey way than some suggest.

I am also considering using JDM vehicles strictly for parts purposes (such as transfering the RHD parts of a Toyota Soarer into my SC400). Is that the possible way around??

A: JDM parts are either a hit or a miss, you can get faulty equipment and you won’t be able to send it back. Or you will get the part that’s just right for you. IMO I would never buy JDM.

And why would you want to make your car RHD? I’m pretty sure you have to get a license for that and get it inspected and it would just create such a hassle.

Q: Can you drive a car from Chicago to New Hampshire(for my story)?
I’m not american and I have a story involving going from Chicago to New Hampshire, can you get there by car? How many hours?

A: Simple answer yes. You can usually drive to anyplace on continental USA

http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Chicago&1s=IL&1y=US&1l=41.883823&1g=-87.632469&1v=CITY&2c=Concord&2s=NH&2y=US&2l=43.208099&2g=-71.538101&2v=CITY

Map quest says about 17 hours.

Good luck with the story

Q: Good stops to make on a car trip from Chicago to New York?
I am flying to Chicago and driving back . What are some things that I can do while I am there and are there any stops in other states that I should make on my trip back? I want to try to see something in every state I go through.

A: While there are lots of things to see on the way, I will give you one piece of advice that I really hope you take advantage of.

Stop at the crash site of flight 93 in Pennsylvania. Your life will not be the same.

Q: Does anyone know what the tax, title and license fees are for a new car purchase within the city of Chicago?
Either the actual dollar amount or what percentage is charged for taxes, title and license. Thanks!

A: Do you really want the correct answer? Call the DMV in Chicago explain what you have and they’ll quote you the exact amount due.

Q: How long does it take from Chicago to New york, New York by car?

A: 12 hours, 38 minutes

http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&un=m&cl=EN&ct=NA&rsres=1&1ffi=&1l=&1g=&1pl=&1v=&1n=&2ffi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&1pn=&1a=&1c=chicago&1s=IL&1z=&2pn=&2a=&2c=New+York&2s=NY&2z=&r=f

Q: How many hours does it take to go to Chicago from New York? Plane? Car?

A: Catch a direct non-stop flight between ORD and LGA (LaGuardia) or ORD and expect aprox 2-2.5 hour depending on airline carrier.

Get a car, and expect around 12-14 hours depending on your speed and driving conditions. If you average around 75 mph, expect around 13 hour travel time with short breaks in between.

My advise, catch a plane unless there’s three + passengers. In a winter time, airfare is super cheap (around $75 each way plus tax).

Good luck

Q: If I have insurance in Chicago, can I drive the car in New York?
I’m planning 2 stay in New York, so can I still use my chicago insurance?
Thanks
I am staying der but I’ve seen sum people with Texas plate 4 more den a year living in NY…

A: the only thing you have to change in NY is your license…within 10 days of moving to NY….you can keep your out of state plates and insurance as there is no law against that…
everyone here gets michigan, connecticut, texas or north carolina plates and insurance as new york is outrageously high…for insurance and registration fees…and they keep getting higher!

Q: How many gallon of gas are needed to go to Chicago from New York City?By a new 2000 Kg car?

A: Not enough information.
Site below will allow you to look up the rated mpg of your 2000 kilogram car.
By the way, never heard of anyone saying, “Guess what? I just bought a brand new 2000 Kg car!!”
Get my drift??

Q: I have a free Car ride to Chicago this weekend? Do I go with my cousins or stay in New Jersey this holiday?
I thought about it and I think I’m going to go because I’m still young (22) and i want to experience another part of the country. However, i don’t feel like driving 14 hours to get there. If you have any tidbits on how Chicago is and if you would travel from New Jersey to Chicago on New Year’s weekend. Lemme know if Chicago is worth the trip. Thanks

A: I grew up in New Jersey and live in Chicago. Chicago has a lot to offer that is different than New Jersey. Navy Pier, Millenium Park, John Hancock Tower, Great Clubs: House of Blues and Kingston Mines. Fun stuff to do on Michigan Avenue and in Lincoln Park. The Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium are all easy to get to. Public Transportation is faily reliable. You can get a 2 day pass from any Jewelor Dominick’s Grocery Store or at a local Currency Exchange.
What to avoid….Chicago style food…Deep Dish Pizza, Chicago Hot Dogs, Italian Beef Sandwiches…New Jersy Rules in this category. What I would not give for a thin pizza or a good sub or a taylor ham on a butter kaiser roll..Have a great trip

Q: I live in Chicago, and looking for a new car. Audi S5 or Lexus ISF!? Which one looks nicer and is bett?
Audi S5 AWD $62,000
Lexus ISF RWD $48000 (W/ all incentives)
(Would need to by $3,200 rims and tires for winter on ISF)

A: Neither is my favorite, but if i had to choose, Audi S5 awd

Q: are the taxes cheaper to buy or lease a car in chicago or new jersey?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.yoll.net

Q: will i get the parking boot on my new car if i no longer have the old car in chicago?

A: It takes a while to transfer the citations from the old vehicle a new one but the process may be sped when the new owner of the old vehicle transfers it into their name. At least that is how it is in California. Once you have five or more citations (at least in Los Angeles) the vehicle may be booted. Pay the citations and avoid a later hassle. If it does get booted and you do not do anything in short order, it will be impounded (much more expensive) and then may be sold at auction in 30-41 days to recover the cost of the tow and storage.

Cities, counties, and states are in need of revenue. They will not bat an eye to get your money when you are in the wrong.

Most states will also hold up renewing the vehicle registration if there are outstanding overdue parking/toll violations.

Q: who is offering the best new car deals in chicago land right now? and the cost of the car is still low?
like under 15,000?

A: Your not buying a price tag, your buying a car. Buy what you like that is within your budget.

Q: I’m 19 and want to rent a car from Chicago to New Orleans. Best idea?
problem is, no place will allow you to drive a rental if you’re under 24. Can anyone help me figure out some way around this or a place that will allow me to drive?

And no, just having a parent sign for it won’t help. they won’t let anyone under 24 drive, period. anyone know of somewhere that doesn’t have this policy?

another idea is some kind of personal renter, where someone in Chicago just sold a car to someone in N.O. (or something along those lines) and needs to get it down there somehow. My mom says that’s what she did when she needed a one way ride somewhere, but i don’t know where to look for that sort of thing and she doesn’t either.

A: Sorry, but no business will rent a car to a 19 y/o.

A great alternative to flying is taking the train from Chicago to New Orleans: www.amtrak.com

Note that you do not need a car to get around in downtown New Orleans. Also, the parking regulations are Byzantine and there are lots of Parking Control Agents. The New Orleans regional transit authority (www.norta.com) sells 1 and 3 day passes that offer unlimited use of buses and streetcars for the day(s) you select. There are also lots of taxicabs.

Good luck!

Q: A good Restarurant, Night Club, Pub, to pass the New Year, and a Rental Car in Chicago??!?
I’m going to visit Chicago next week, Is there any good night club, restaurant to pass the New year with my sister and I (24 and 27 years old), and I want to rent a Car, anybody knows a very cheap one?? and of course….a very cheap and central Hotel or Hostels…..Thanks

A: First of all don’t rent a car. Added to what you’re going to pay to rent the car, you’ll pay around $35 to park the car overnight. Take a plane or train here, then use the CTA (L trains, buses) or cabs, it will be much cheaper and more convenient – and more safe on NYE. I also believe that the CTA only charges a penny on NYE to make sure there are no drunk drivers. Otherwise it’s only $2 one way.

There are tons of places depending on your taste in music, and things like that. Check out Chicago’s section at Metromix.com, they have an awesome New Years section.

Also, just know that hotel rates go up and down based on how busy it is in the city. It’s not bery busy during the winter, so rates are normally low except for NYE and Valentines Day – so expect to pay a lot unless you’re staying near an airport.

Q: Are there any cheap limo or car services from New Lenox, IL to Chicago, IL?
I want to take a limo or car to a concert at UIC Pavillion in Chicago, IL. I don’t want the hastle of driving or taking a train. Any services you can suggest?

A: You may want to call a school bus company. Years ago, when I lived in Illinois and had to commute to Chicago, a bunch of neighborhood people paid a monthly fee and saved 70% transportation costs by charting a bus and driving daily to Chicago.
