Q: What can I do if I cant get approved for a car loan or financing do to past (now resolved) credit issues?
Ive tried nearly every car loan place and almost every bank within the Chicago land area Ive had credit issues but they’ve been resolved for about 3 years now but I can’t seem to get approved for financing my question is does anyone know of any car dealerships within the Chicago land willing to give a single hardworking mom a break and a 2001-2007 vehicle with financing and no money down????

A: Credit score too low and every time you try to get a loan, you are lowering your score.

Q: Me and my business partner are looking to open a car service/ small dealership, where do i find money to do it
We don’t have much money to start with and no one to borrow from. Where do i start looking to find investors or some loans or grants in Chicago area?
Any help would be much apreciated!
Thanks

A: look for angel investors people under whom you have already worked before and they know you well , factoring accounts if incase you have some receivables , sell them to raise money, banks or credit unions.

Q: Willing to drive a car from Flint, Michigan airport to O’hare -Chicago one week + one day later for delivery.
Dealership or Rental Car Companies

A: I’m not understanding your question….since this is yahoo answers that would imply heavily that you need to have a question in order for some one to answer it. This unfortunately isn’t yahoo statements. If this what you want to do try calling rental car companies. I seriously doubt that a car dealership would want or allow you to drive a car and put on miles to get it from Chicago to Flint that is why they usually but them on trucks or rail to get them to there destinations.

Q: i have an 1985 cutlass cierra and i lost my only key to that car is there any place i can go in chgo for a new
the car is a cutlass cierra and i live in chicago is there any dealership who still make keys for that car?

A: if you know what dealer the car was sold from, he may have the key numbers to the tomblers. if that does not work, call a g.m. customer satisfaction, toll free number, and give them your , vin #, and they be able to help you. remember, the do not make olds, anymore.

Q: Bowling ball hit the bottom of my car when college students threw them down a busy street hill.?
My question: The car had some damage on the bottom of the vehicle. Not the frame, just places the bowling ball hit. I didn’t notice problems until I drove to Chicago (the hwy speed must of loosened things up).
I had some repairs done. My question, it’s 2 years later, I’ve had no problems with the car. I want to sell it, but what is the lowest price of damage you can have on a vehicle before you would have to disclose it to a dealership or the person you were selling it to?

A: If it runs “OK” don’t disclose it unless you filed insurance on it…then it will be on carfacts? also say that railroad tracks may have losed unpining? if the ask?

Q: looking to service a 2002 Golf in Chicago?
I’ve recently moved to Chicago and I’d like to find a local garage even in the suburbs to take my car to, it’s 6 years old its got pretty high mileage 117,000 had a couple of knocks so I don’t really want to have to take it back to the dealership for their overinflated prices .

I’m just looking for a shop that does good work for a good price.

A: hey e-mail me some of the problems and i might be able to help you find a location.

Q: On average, what % discount can be reduced from a new car price when you offer upfront cash?
I am looking at purchasing a car that has a MSRP of 28,980 by a Chicago dealership. The advertised price is $24,943. Assuming, I were to pay cash, what is the general rule for the percentage discount? For example, if I tell the dealer I will pay cash, would it be in the range if I were to tell him I would pay him $22,000 for the car (excluding taxes) or is that too low. When you pay up front cash what percentage can a buyer usually discount?

A: There is no standard average discount involved with a cash sale. Each individual vehicle sold has a certain markup over what the dealer paid for it, and that markup will vary wildly from model to model. Some new cars don’t have $400 of profit built-in at sticker price. Hard for some folks to believe, but it’s true.

Also, dealers don’t jump out of their chair for cash deals. They used to, as it took a long time to get financed deals approved. But now, they’re done quickly, so it makes the dealer no time difference. Add to that dealers usually profit from financed deals, and the incentive to discount cash deals is pretty much gone.

Go in, make your offer (do your homework, don’t just go in and throw a lowball number at them and be offended if they say “no”), and see what happens.

Q: Do I have to go to a Honda dealership to have underbody rust protection on my Honda Accord?
I just got a new Honda Accord, and I wanna have it have one of those rust protection works. Do I have to take it only to a Honda dealership? Or any other car dealership can do so? Is there any other store who does this service in Chicago? I live in downtown Chicago.
The dealer tried to make me buy a package for $800 for rust and salt protection and other interior protective stuff. I just could not leave my car for the whole day in the suburbs.

A: First check with your Honda dealer because I think they’ll tell you that even in Chicago, your new Honda already has all the rust protection it needs and that additional after market rust protection can actually plug up the drain holes in your doors and body, and even cause rust in some instances. The experts do not really recommend rust protection from all that I’ve read. Your Honda’s body and chassis is warrantied against rust through for many years.

Q: Where do you get your tires for your car from, and are your tires expensive?
Do you go to a website?

Do you know a tire dealership in your city, maybe they have a dealership in Suburbs of Chicago.

Look at this question for further understanding.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070925075637AA0jf00&r=w

A: I called all the local tire dealers and made a list. I then started to tell each of them what the other guys was offering and I had them bidding against each other.
I finally choose the shop that had the best price and service after the buy.
I went with tires plus.

Q: Looking For A Used Car at A Reasonable Price?
Hello! I live in Chicago and I’m looking for a used Lexus RX, year of the truck doesn’t matter. Does anyone know of any great dealerships (or have the web adressess of any) with outstanding deals that I could browse? To purchase a Lexus RX in Chicago would run me an arm and a leg, when I am certain that there are other dealerships in other locations where I wouldn’t have to pay as much. I don’t mind travelling to pick the truck up, if necessary. Thanks for all the input!

A: You should look on cars.com, autotrader and eBay and do a search by how far you would be willing to travel. I would also try to focus on not buying from a dealership but try to buy from an individual as their price should be less than retail.

Q: What would you do with your automobile in this situation?
I am moving to an apartment in chicago but I am currently making 400 dollar a month car payments on a car I won’t really need. I’d like to save as much money as possible, and I have about 10,000 dollars left on the loan. Would you
a) Deal with it and keep the car for unexpected uses, b) trade the car in for a beater, c) trade the car in for a sweet moped, or d) trade the car in to the dealership and pay off the remainder, or e) none of the above

thank you very much

A: Hmmm that depends on how much your car is worth compared to how much you owe. If you owe way more than the blue book value then your only option is option A or D.

Q: CREDIT SCORE OF 623. IS IT POSSIBLE TO FINANCE A CAR?
I have a credit score EXP of 623, I want to get a car that is 15k-25k.
My trade in value is $3000
I have $1200 cash down

I live in the chicago land area, what dealerships would approve me?
My car is having a lot of issues, I will need to get rid of it and get a new one

A: Go here: http://www.americredit.com/Customers/tools/dealerlocator/dealer_Locator.asp
Supply your zip code and type of car you want. Americredit partners with many dealerships and offers auto loans to those with poor to fair credit. They will undoubtedly finance you, but your interest rate may be a bit high. After a couple of years with timely payments (and hopefully, a higher FICO), you can probably refinance through a bank or credit union for a lower rate.

Don’t forget to figure in your costs for insurance. You will be required to have full coverage for the life of the loan and insurance companies base rates on your credit score.

Q: Be there in person to buy car out of state?
I am trying to purchase a vehicle from a dealership in Chicago, and I live in Florida. They are telling me that I need to be there in person to actually purchase the vehicle, though I have known people who have purchased vehicles (and houses for that matter) only by signing faxed/scanned documents and mailing in the check for the amount of the vehicle. Why won’t they let me get this vehicle!?!?!

A: Because legally you CANNOT purchase a car over the internet or the telephone. They have A LOT to lose and therefore they are following the law. You have to be there in person to take possession of the vehicle. You have to sign the original documents and take the car from them. You cannot sign documents by fax, because they have no way of proving that it is you signing them.

To get a dealer license there are tons of rules and this is one of them. They are protecting themselves – when in reality, it is what they should do. Why should they jeopardize their license for someone they do not know, and doesn’t care or WANT the vehicle bad enough to go pick it up. Lets face it, this is not the economy that MOST people would be out buying cars, sight unseen. So if you are in a position to buy the car, step up and go get it.

AND it’s not that they WONT Let you get this vehicle as you so whiningly said – its that YOU WONT GO GET IT! Its really simple!

Q: How do I register an out of state car? My situation is kind of sticky…?
Ok, right now, I am 17, and I currently am living on my own. Right now, my parents, who live in Michigan, are paying for me to drive an 07 Nissan Murano, until I am able to purchase my own car, which will be within the next 6 months, then I am giving the car to them, and it has Michigan plates, and registration.

As of now I am in Indiana. I will be turning 18 in just a few months. I will be here until at least May of next year, because I am leasing a house. I am not sure if I want to go live in Chicago when it’s up or not…

So basically, I am looking at buying an Audi (from a private party, not a dealership) that is in Wisconsin, but I will have to register it in my name, and get it to be an Indiana car, right? How do I do that?

And if I do decide to move to Chicago, how would I get it to go from an Indiana car, to an Illinois car?

What is the cost of this? Will I need a witness? Will I need a co-signer?

Thanks a lot!

A: The COST is going to depend on the price of the car, the price of the insurance, and the DMV fees. You do not need a witness. You only need a cosigner if you can’t find a bank to give you a loan on your own. If you pay cash for the car, then you don’t need a cosigner.

You will have to do the purchase by mail, so you can take the title to an IN DMV to transfer it, pay taxes, get plates. Then you bring the IN plates to WI to pick up the car, and drive it back.

When you move from IN to IL, you go to the IL dmv, with the IN title, and transfer that, and the plates.

Go talk to an IN insurance agent regarding quoting the coverage for you. They’ll also be able to help out with some basic DMV information.

ps, your age is not an issue. People under 18 can own and register cars, and can buy insurance policies.

Q: Financing, pre-approval online???
Is it a good idea to fill a pre-approval car loan application online? I have sub-prime credit(little credit history) and need financing for a used ‘06 car for 14k. I have 20% down on the purchase but the dealer is 50 miles from me. There are 5 cars at the dealership at my price range and model year with low miles. It’s one the biggest dealerships in Chicago and need some advise on how to finance the car. I don’t want to travel 2 hours in traffic and find out it’s wasn’t worth it.

A: NO, it’s not. Do it over the phone with a reputable local lender. If you belong to a credit union they are usually the best at doing car loans. Your bank would be the second best option. Get pre-approved with them first, then when you go to buy the car see what kind of financing the dealership can offer you. If they can beat your bank or credit union, great, but if not (which is usually the case unless they are running a killer deal on interest rates) then you can use the loan you’re preapproved for.

Don’t go with an internet-based lender, many are not reputable and even the somewhat reputable ones will often run your credit multiple times because they apply for multiple loans on your behalf to find the best deal…but at the end of the day, your score goes down from running your credit that many times and you don’t qualify for as good of a rate as you would have before.
